Broke tensioner tool inside motor

Anybody else have any real experience getting one of these out with the motor in the car? I searched but from the sounds of it the motor was out.

All I gotta say is FAIL, and pay attention to what you are doing. And never answer your phone while tightening one of these down!

You could try to use a turbo socket to twist it out. I'm pretty sure you are suppose to use a generous helping of lubrication when using that particular tool.

Perhaps screw 2 nuts on the broken part, tighten them together very tight, and then put a socket on the outer one (or if you can get an open end wrench in there turn the bottom one against the top one - even if all you do is loosen it you can then use the socket).

If the tensioner arm threads aren't already mangled to death, next time you'll have to get the real Miller tool shown here which has an exact thread match (battery hold down rod doesn't): http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=117418&d=1295035958

If that doesn/ work remove the mount. There's only 3 bolts holding it on. Once the mount is out it's easy to use vice grips to remove the broken piece.
