This was the first time I used the special tool for the timing that threads through the engine mount to swing the tensioner arm, to tighten the the hydraulic tensioner.
I didn't see why I wasn't able swing the arm wth the belt off so I just wanted to try tool out and I felt it brake shortly after the tool made contact. Just the last inch where there's no thread at broke off. I used oil on the tool and pb blastered the hole in the mount. The broken piece was retrieved.
I was trying to watch the tensioner compress after every few turns but it didn't look like it moved at all. Can this be from the tensioner arm being to tight?
