The last time I did my timing belt, I had a friend give me a hand. He had his tool for the tensioner- a piece of all-thread with two nuts locked on it.
This is a heck of a lot cheaper than some of the correct tools and seemed to work just fine. I'll be doing a cam set this week and will need to depress the tensioner, thus needing the tool to do so.
What is the thread pitch so I can go out and pick up my own threaded rod.
