Ok this just started happening.

I'll be driving and the E-Brake and Battery light will flicker on / off while driving..... or I'll start it up and they'll stay on.

normally I'd think it was battery related.

But I'm not sure on this one. - I just changed my brake pads, so that shouldn't be triggering anything.

The battery is a couple months old. - however my alternator is going - it doens't work from time to time.

What's your opinions. - I noticed it goes on and off with bumps with leads me to believe it's a loose wire or something?

However I have no Idea which one? or where it would be located.

I'm thinking I'm going to pull the center console off to check out the e-brake area for anything out of the ordinary today.

Thanks
-brian

dang I would have dished out the money for the DSM original if I had my local dealer carry it but he said it was a special order so more money plus a week in travel time I was pushed to go to AZ

well i have a red top deep cycle optima batterie and i have my afc2,deck gauges plus what ever else that gets power to stock parts but i was driving and my brake lite and battery light are on the batterie reads around 12 volts some times drops down to 11.8ish and goes back up. could the be a bad altenator?

yes, it is most likely your alternator, mine just took a downer. your voltage will just keep droping, then eventually die. check your battery terminals first

headlight fuse ? ill check the terrminals first and bring the battery up to autozone to get tested then bring the altenator up there to get check. thanks guys for quick responding

some blown fuses or bad connections can cause some display lights to come on, most likely the alternator though.

Maybe go with a higher output one when you replace it, my stock went bad so I repalced it with a stocker and my lights dim way to much at low rpms or if a/c is on.

I am having the same problem in my 96, but now that I think about it, I gave some guy a jump start on monday, and he shorted out my car cause he didn't know how to connect them, and I just handed them to him to hold...

Problem: car does not start, turn key and no crank, no ticking. If in the on position the oil, brake, battery, collant, and anti-lock lights come on. Battery is warranteed for 84 months and its been 60 months. Battery shows ~11v and 9v with the headlights on. Alternator was replaced within 4 months, starter was replaced 18 months ago. fuses by the intake and battery looked fine. Is this a starter? or could it be a short somewhere etc?

Double check everything for corrosion.

Especially the lines running to your starter. Be sure that everything has nice clean tight connections. If you still get no crank, then measure the voltage reaching the starter and make sure it is within spec.

For some reason 3 of my dash indicator lights are staying on all the time. The yellow radiator coolant light, the red battery light, and the parking brake light. Also when the turn signals are used they dim when the green arrow blinks.

Any suggestions

Well, thats true. Hm, if you wanna use the meter, I would say check the voltage @ the battery terminals before and after starting and go from there. Did you check your coolant level? Generally mine comes on only when its low or empty. And the battery light only comes on when theres a battery related problem. To make my long story short, yeah go check it with your meter! :thumb: Goodluck!

i would test the alternator anyway my was bad once and those same lights were coming on because of it not sure why but they stopped when i put the new alt. in

my alternator just fried like 2 days ago and it was showing the same idiot lights. i put a new one in and it went away. so dose your car squel at all when u give it the gas or when u turn it on? (sounds like a loose belt)

I replaced the Clutch and flywheel today (act 2100 clutch and xact lighten flywheel) after the installation i took the drive for a spin. I noticed that the E-brake light and the battery light came on. When the car is at idle the lights come on but when i start driving comes back on again...the lights keep coming on and off at times. I'm not sure where to start. Can someone lead me to what the cause might be or what to check for.
