Bov problems

what is the hose on the side of my bov? the one that runs to the intake?
its stock rite now but the bov i have doesnt have the pipe for it

If your system is stock like you said, it is most likely your recirculation hose.

Our BOV, or by-pass valves are meant to redirect vented pressure back into the intake. The reason for this is because, stock, we have MAS system which measure air before the inlet of the turbo. Any loss of air to the atmosphere, rather than being returned, would be considered unmetered air and the stock ECU will have trouble compensation for the right fuel mixture.

I would get a hose and hook it back up to your intake.

with out a few upgrades there is no way to run open bov without issues. but if you want to upgrade there are good bov's out there that you can still recirculate. ex: gredy type rs

Not if he means intake manifold. Then that would be the little vacuum line to move the bov.

so can i make this into a recirculating bov? its a knock off hks ssqv

Like he said you can do the GM+MAFT.. or u can get a recirculate fitting on eBay for the bov... Since I saw stock I would just recirculate and later after some upgrades think about venting out

You can recirculate SSQV Type blow off valves. The fitting costs about 30$ and you need some allen keys to take the front shroud off. It takes all of 5 minutes to remove the front shroud and reinstall it with the recirculation fitting.

Id go with the GM3 inch and a MAFT in blow thru mode so u can vent to the atmosphere. i have seen some cheaper ssqv recirculation kits on ebay but honestly id go with a greddy rs type. Thats what im using. They come with a recirculation fitting as well as vented to atmosphere so at a later time u can do it if you get that far into modifying.
