Is their any benefit to having the BOV mounted in the UIP vs the LIP? Since it's function is to vent the pressure BTW the Turbo and Throttle Plate btw shifts I would think would make no difference

I ask as I'm redoing my FMIC piping (diff turbo) and was considering mounting it on the LIC this time around.

I've never heard of that, but I've read that you want your BOV no more than
14" from your TB.
But if you want, give it a try and see what happens....

interesting. i have seen bov's sticking out of bumpers before, so it must work.

yeah, you're right..... I too have seen that, usually when venting though.....
I don't think he's venting, and he'd have to run a hella long hose to recirculate
if he wanted too  ............

You'd be in the middle of the gear before the vent got back to the intake to recirculate  ...........

I think supra's do it because since a lot of them are going single turbo, and running high boost, i think it helps aleviate the pressure instead of just one BOV.

The best location is as close to the throttle body as possible

That's the worst logic I have ever heard. Since you're seen it, it must work?

I've seen a whole ton of stupid shit that was a bad idea.

That is correct. The charge air is traveling at high velocity towards the throttle body, you do not want to make it all turn around and go backwards.

You trully are a moron. Ive seen BOV's on cars with no forced induction so those should work also....... Right???????????? Just becasue someone did it on a car that happened to be fast doesnt mean that it works or is the best way to do it. I am waiting for the day that you actually post some good information and have a some real proof to back it up. If it pertained to the thread in question that would be even better.

As KPT has posted you want it as close to the TB as possible. You want the least restriction possible and you want that pressure spike to be relieved ASAP. All that air hits the throttle body so if the BOV is just inches away it will have the quickest most effective way to get out.

no retard. i clearly implied this was not on a stupid rice street car.

Just becasue someone did it on a car that happened to be fast doesnt mean that it works or is the best way to do it. .

Point out to me where I said it was the best way. I simply said it works.

Try not to be a complete toolbag, ok. Your "wiseman" status really has gone to your head.

That has nothing to do with the thread. He wanted to know the best placement andthe reasons for that placement. Not what cars had it and were they rice. You gave no technical reasoning or any educated answer. You just said that it was on a 10 sec RX7 and in a mag. How does that give him any reason or answer his question in any way.

Point out to me where I said it was the best way. I simply said it works.

I never implied that you said that. What I said was that just becasue it is on a fast car doesnt mean it is right or wrong. How about you point out were I implied that you said that.

You seen to be a bit of a simpleton. This status was given to to me becasue I dont post shit like this.

I post factual information and that backs up my thoughts, opinions, and statements not just sophmoric observations. If you really have a problem with my status then take it up with Luda. I bet after looking at your post and contributions to this board he will make the right decision.

Closest to the TB is the best.

No more arguing. Thread closed.
