BOV on a automatic?

I have a automatic eclipse and was wondering if it would be worth it to install a bov in it? Can I get your opinions?

im going to assume you mean an aftermarket BOV because they have one from the factory. if so is your auto a 1g or a 2g. if 1g the factory will be just fine. if a 2g yes its worth it the factory ones are plastic and are garbage.

It's always good to replace the stock bov because they leak. Just make sure that you recirculate the bov back into the intake like it comes stock.

From your profile I'm assuming your 100% stock , so you have the factory plastic 2g bov - auto or not.

A reliable , cheap replacement is a 1g bov from the 90-94 cars , not plastic and can hold pressure much better than the factory 2g.

If you choose an aftermarket replacement make sure you recirculate it back to intake , if not between shifts you will lose air pressure that has already been measured by the MAF , and could result in some undesirable conditions.

Maybe he was thinking since it's an auto , and you don't let off the throttle between shifts like a standard there is no need for one.

Yes your car comes stock with BOV, as stated the stock 2G is crap and the stock 1G should be fine for your needs. If you go aftermarket it's gotta recirculate or you'll cause more problems. Good Luck!

Sorry I don't know much. What do you mean by recirculate?

It means there's a hose that connects the BOV back to the intake so when it opens it doesn't release air to the atmosphere, it goes back into the intake.
