In the near future I will be getting a 1997 Eagle Talon TSi. I've been looking into GReddy BOVs because I really want to get that sweet BOV sound. I know, I know, how rice of me. I like it. I've been researching and I found out you don't have to vent to the atmosphere to get the sweet sound, so my install should be fairly easy, correct? So are there any recommendations? What brand/type of BOV should I get? Whats the difference between the GReddy Type S and the Type RS?

Yup a 1g bov is always a good upgrade from the plastic 2g bov if it hasn't been replaced already. $20 gets you a good 1g bov.

He asked for a good BOV not a chepo 1st gen its like asking for Jordans and getting cheap shaqs LOL.. Vented or not Greddy is ok I got the RS difference is sound.. I wanted the type S but didnt wanna wait for the special order since they dont make it anymore.. but Type S makes better sound to my likings RS just looks nicer but you cant circulate that one..

check out the new NRG-Type S Bov, its has a modified stronger diaphgram and it sounds like the greddy type S. just my .02

Oh ok. And I dont plan on venting because it seems a little technical because I read you have to change/do something with the MAS. Would I still get that BOV sound even if I dont vent though? And I couldnt use the Type RS then right? Because Im not venting? I think Ill look into the NRG. Would the 1g bov produce a nice sound?

Thanks for all the helpful responses guys. :D. I would be lost without this forum haha LOL

Oh, so I can get a 1g bov to sound like loud? Keeping the stock turbo and all? Would it be as easy as things like putting in a hard intake pipe? Im gunna search this haha. Would this be the better/cheaper route if Im just looking for that nice sound?

Hard-pipe the intake, and the only other thing you can do to really make it more audible is run more boost....but don't attempt this without fuel mods or some way to log what your injector duty is doing.

Once you reach the 20psi threshold, the valve can be vented or recirculated and it will sound exactly the same.

So I think I might go with the 1g BOV and hard intake method. I couldnt find the NRG Type S anywhere. Is the task of putting in the 1g BOV fairly easy?

You will need a new upper intercooler pipe or an adapter. An upper intercooler pipe is relatively inexpensive and a good performance mod anyway. Do a search of the forums for more information than you can probably handle in one sitting.

if you have the stock UICP then you could be run a stock evo BOV without an adapter. no adapter and its metal like a 1g BOV. but either way i'd go with a stock evo or a stock 1g BOV they cant be beat for the money.
