Bottom end rebuild question!!

I did a rebuild recently, and i found out, that my crank was hard to turn, apparently my 3rd cylinder rod, is out of round. i have some spare rods, but, my rod caps, are all mixed up. Im trying to find, what cap belongs to what rod. Is it ok, just to use a cap in another rod? I also found some marks on the bottom of the caps. there are some caps with 1 dot, and there's other ones with 2 dots. can plastigauge clear any doubts? thanks for the help.

You will have to find the right cap for the rod. I usually mark them when I tear down the bottom end.

You can usually match up the machining marks from the big end of the rod and caps to figure out which one goes to which rod. You can't use another cap from another rod. It will not be round. If you are really worried about it just get the one you think is right and take it to a machine shop to get reconditioned.
