bother upgrading to dsmlink?

I wanted to know if it would be worth it to upgrade to dsmlink from the setup that i already have, I have a burned eprom for 550cc injectors and the 2gmaf and a safc and getting a wideband. Now would it be worth it to spend 565 on dsmlink or do you guys think my setup will be ok for goals of high 11s low 12s? thanks for the help guys
 
Yes it is 100% worth it. You have the possibilty of anti-lag, finer tune, and control of timing. Very, very much worth it.

You have an externally gated 20g. You surely could use more injector to get the most out of that turbo!!!

If you're going for bigger injectors you'll be able to dial in an exact tune as larger injectors have high deadtime characteristics and will usually keep your fuel trims screwy, or keep you screwy trying to dial them in. As well, you will be able to run over 750cc injectors with out compensation/timing issues.

You could just get another chip burned for larger injectors. You will definately overrun your stock 1g maf if you you just wink at the sweet spot of the 20g. So you'll also need to have the 2g maf signal burned into what ever chip you get. DSMLink is reported to come out with gm maf direct plug-in. This means you can go blowthru and never out growing your airflow sensor! Also you can dial in the gm/2g maf so that you get exact airflow readings... very good when trying to get an accurate log. Not to mention, DSMLink has the best logger around incorporated in it. Control over all of your sensors and solenoids is a real plus. Everything Jon mentioned plus water/alky or nitrous control. comtrol of rev limit, no-lift-to-shift, studderbox, and more... And anything you want to change, add, or delete is at your fingertips. And for you it is a plug-in affair. No hunting down working eproms, repairing and socketing them. . .

Timing control is why I bought dsmlink.
 
Well think about the ~180 you'll make from the SAFC2, that drops your price to $385. You may even make some money off of selling your burned chip, someone out there may need one.

You may not even need a wideband, the logger on DSMLink is amazing.


I posted an SAFC2 on classifieds last night, sold it this morning and I had about 10 emails waiting for my reply. They aren't hard to sell.
