Boosting Too much! AFR Troubleshooting! please help!

I recently installed a full 3" exhaust on my 1g. my turbo is now boosting over 15psi and I only want it to stay at 10psi bc I have a 16g on my eclipse with stock injectors and fuel pump. Is this normal? with less pressure the turbo is spooling over 10 psi?

also, on a side note sometimes my turbo will spool up but the engine will hesitate like the boost is going somewhere other than into the intake... how would i know if my MAS is bad? it feels like the air to fuel to boost ratios are all wrong. dont have a gm maf and I dont have a boost controller. The air intake from the SMIC that goes into the turbo has a vacuum hose coming out of it, the nipple that the vacuum hose goes onto is crimped slightly.. i dont know if this is relevant to my problems but i could use some help guys!

First off you need to perform a boost leak test and find your leaks. Next, you have what's called boost creep and it's from your easy breathing exhaust system.

The exhaust is taking the least resistant path which is supposed to be the wastegate passage. With the 3" exhaust, the turbine is becoming the least resistant path so it's going to keep spooling (boost creep). The reason why it's not flowing out the wastegate passage is because you need to port out the inlet.

Normally there is a large hump that over hangs the inlet and the exhast has to make a 90* bend to leave the housing. You want to port that over hang so the exhaust can leave easier and that will solve your boost creep.

So what exactly do i have to port? If i have already done a boost leak test then what else could be the problem? what exactly controls The AFR?
