We put a faze boost gauge and ebay mbc on my friends 97 gsx tonight. The boost gauge I know works because it was on my laser. And we tried two different mbc's. We couldn't get his mbc to turn the boost down no matter what we tried. We tried it all the way in, all the way out, and turned the mbc around and tried it both ways again. Didn't do anything. Then we tried my mbc, which I know works. We hooked it up and got the boost to hold at 15psi. So we thought we were all good. On the way back here, he got on it in 2nd and it boosted up to 25psi. And he's running the t25. It's not even possible for the t25 to push that much boost is it? Also, it didn't feel like 25 psi at all. It wasn't pulling very hard. We could also hear a vacuum leak, but no way to test it tonight. The mbc is still hooked up. I thought it might have blown off when he hit 25 psi, but it didn't. It could be a bad wastegate actuator or the wastegate could be stuck. Anything else? Also, we didn't hit fuel cut....that's not right.

that is quite the pickle indeed, does it hold a 25 or is that just the highest u saw before u let off because the boost was way to high. also did it always do this and just never noticed it because of no boost gauge, or did it just start after the install.

He let off. No need to blow the motor up.

We have no idea if it was always like that because of no boost gauge.

Yeah, we will tomorrow. It's too cold out tonight.

Trust me, you can't blow an engine with a t25

I've run boost up to 24 psi before accidentally and it doesn't flow enough cool air to actually make you run lean, it'll just push out hot air resulting in timing retard/knock.

Make sure you are hooking the boost controller properly.

See above.

Yeah I am. I've done it before.

Ok, hooked everything back up like stock and it boosts 15 psi.

Well it seems you've tried everything else, I would double check that new hose again. After all, it did work for a while with your mbc, mabe a little cut got splited open. Good luck.
