I have a 98 gst, it has a 6bolt longblock with 1g cas. all emissions are deleted. It has a 16g,front mount intercooler, 550cc injectors, 255 wally.
So heres my problem. I went through did a boost test up to 20 psi fixed all my boost leaks. Checked that off my list. Then i did my ignition timing , matched the scan tool with the timing light on the crankshaft checked that off the list.
So it thought i found my boost problem/ feeling the pull i expected after riding in my buddys car with same mods.
My boost gauge reads 8 psi and wont climb, i have tried to different waste gate acc. and nothing changes it. only way i can boost more is if i unplug the vaccum line from the wastegate. i tryed the factory wastegate acc and a 25lb one didnt change my boost level.
I need help any advice would be great im running out of ideas.

I think there lies your problem, don't have anything controlling your larger injectors! You should get link, single best investment for the 4g63 platforms!!

^ +1 Your issue is that your not compensating for the 550cc injectors, which are about 20% larger than stock. This is why your wideband is showing 12 when it should be reading around 14.7 at idle/cruise. Running that rich will not only have a serious affect on power, but can cause damage to the engine as well.

Until you have some way to compensate for the injectors, replace the 550's with stock injectors. Until you have a way to monitor knock I wouldn't be trying to go any higher than stock boost pressure either.

after i fixed my ignition timing my a/f went to around 14 so that better now. but i still feel no real big pull. when i bought the car the cas was all the way towards the front of the car. showing about 22 advanced on the scan tool its now around 9 idles way better a/f is better and can tell getting a cleaner burn. But it dosnt feel as much power as it did before.
Also when my boost/vac gauge shows around 22 or 21 vac i hear a whisle but only at that i did a boost leak test and couldnt find it. could that be a problem?

Lol..:ohdamn: As stated above, put stock injectors in and lower the boost till you have something that can control and compensate for the larger injectors.

Not sure if you missed the multiple posts about your injector size, or if you just chose to ignore them. Again, your injectors are a major issue and likely the source of all the other problems. You are running too rich, too much timing, and attempting to run more boost. This issue won't go away by adjusting timing or cranking up boost, these are just bandaids to hide the symptoms. In reality you are putting unnecessary wear on the engine and even risking serious damage. If you want to solve the problem, these are the first steps:

Remove the injectors and replace them with stock 450cc. You could install an SAFC until you can get your hands on DSMLink, but that's more work than it's worth.

Set base timing (with scan tool grounding timing) to 5* BTDC. Without grounding the timing you should be around 8-10* BTDC depending upon idle speed, temperature, etc. You can NOT do this without fixing the previous fuel issue.

Hook a boost source straight to a stock pressure wastegate. This will give you around 9psi, but with the fuel and timing issues fixed, that should feel like 30psi right now. Once you can monitor knock and tune the car in some way, a boost controller would be an option.

There's now ay around this. Doing anything else is just wasting your time.

its a 2g maf its almost good enough for cruising at 14.7 with the 550s....your problem is something else, stock injectors are 450cc ...if you feel the turbo spool and not enough power like something is stopping it/holding it back, its knock or phantom knock...

The OP's car is a 2g, it came from the factory with a 2g MAF and 450cc injectors. The 2g MAF/550cc combo only works with the 1g since the 1g MAF reports 20% more airflow.

If you can't afford dsmlink go with something like moates ostrich. It is like having v3 full with a bit less support online.

Is it a chinabay turbo? I had the same problem when I ran one. MHI is wayy better.
