Boosting problem

I have a 91 gst fwd 16g turbo, only boosts up to 3 on my boost gauge any suggestions, ive checked the piping for leaks and there arent any. And I do have an aftermarket boost gauge.

Did you check the piping for leaks by doing a boost leak test or visual inspection? When doing a boost leak test also check your intercooler for any cracks or leaks. Check to see that all of your vacuum hoses are hooked up correctly.

Does it feel like its only boosting 3psi (lack of power) or is the car still pulling fine?

1. Check your wastegate actuator by pulling of the hose and applying pressurised air to see if it opens and closes (try 1psi then go up to 10psi).
2. Try opening the wastegate by moving actuator rod with your hand.
