boost leak in 3rd 4th and 5th

hey guys,

been boost leaking in 3rd on up

1st and 2nd stick at 12psi and pull all the way through till redline

but hit third hard and shell start leaking and creaping up to 14psi and its obvious its boost leaking

4th and 5th as well

and the rpms will chill around 1K when she all warm so thus im thinking vacume leak

I also let her sit outside for a night and when i got in her in the morning, i got her up to opperating temp and then punched it through all the gears,,, she didnt boost leak at all --- did it 3 min later and she started doing it

im thinking the cold vac lines were still constricted and holdling the boost leak off the first time i punched it

I did a boost leak test and i cleared up all the leaks except a leaking coming from the vacume hose right at the BOV nipple.

I got some Vac hose from auto zone and plan on installing it to see if that fixes it

any other ideas guys???

i got ten feet of the vac hose and plan on installing one at a time starting with the BOV untill that idol returns to normal and hopefully my boost leak problem goes away

Well Im sure its not just boost leak. If theres a leak it would happen at all times not just certin gears. At least I done see how it could.

well what it sounds like is boost creep, not boost leak. if there was a boost leak you wouldnt even be able to get to 12psi depending on how bad it is...and with the idle thing it could be as simple as the biss or the iap not necessarily all the vaccume linesl.

what turbo are you running and what other mods do you have?

running a stock t25 with a injen intake, 3inch down pipe, RXS MBC,

think thats it on the mods

you think the 3inch is causing the creep?

should i port the turbo elbow? would this help at all?

stock bov? i havnt really heard of a t25 creeping to much unless your exhaust is just a straight 3in pipe the whole way back. If you want to port anything to stop creeping port the wastegate hole on the turbo.

ok i just read up on the porting and all but like you said, i shouldnt be having issues with a t25 with my mods boost creeping so ill jump on removing the turbo and doing all the porting for last on my list

it seems to do it more drastically when i have another person in the car with me

i.e more weight


so slipping clutch? but wouldnt i be making much less then 12psi if my clutch were slipping?

when i punch it in 2nd ill peg it at 12psi and when i reach 5K and 5.5K 6K rpms she ll drop steadly till about 9psi or so -- i figured its just because the t25 tapers off and cant hold the boost in those rpms... or is it slipping up there? doesnt feel like it...


opinions guys?

ps car has 48K on it and its the stock clutch and pressure plate
