okay i did a boost leak test earlier today and had about 10 leaks, most of them were leaking through the couples to the intercooler. There's two more i can't figure out. one is where the adjustment screw that controls the idle and the rest sounds llike it's coming out of cylinder 1. it will hold boost but leak out pretty fast.( less than 30 sec). It seems like it's hiding some power.

that adjustment screw is called the biss and there is a o-ring that goes around it when your screw it in. be careful because that screw is plastic and likes to strip easy. if your having a hard time finding exact locations of leaks try spraying soapy water around the area you think it may be coming from while your pressure testing it so it will bubble and your sure.

i sprayed soapy water every where i thought it might be coming out at. it has me puzzeled. i pulled the wire to cyl 1 and put my ear to it and it sound's like it's coming from there, but what would it be.

Compression.

Spark plug not tight enough, intake or exhaust valves worn, head gasket bad, rings (which would send the air into the crankcase or valve cover)

compression is 150 in all cylinders. i hear the bubbling noise form the crank case, but i put the tester on the turbo. which i hear that the air will leak by the seals and go to the crank case and cause the same noise.

Only if the turbo seals themselves are bad. Put it on the TB elbow and see if it still leaks out there. Also did you do the boost leak test with the motor warmed up?

did you check your pcv valve? they have a one way valve built in so they dont leak boost. but if they get dirty they wont seal up properly sometimes. also its right by cyl1 (which is what made me think of it)

okay put it on the the throttle body and pumped it up to 15psi and as soon as i let it off it goes away. i can't find any spots were it's bubling at, so im assuming it's the o rings in the throttle body.
