so the problem started this afternoon. feels like an issue i had before but i just wanna makre sure. problem: ~3k rpms at 1/2-3/4 throttle the car sputters (somewhat similar to a boost leak) but its constant...at around 3k rpms. a boost leak would be a random sputtering/loss of power. the issue i had a long time ago was my valve cover gasket was blown and the 1 and 3 cylinder plugs were covered in oil, therefore causing timing issues at higher rpms. only problem now is i checked the plugs and they're aren't fouled, much less soaked in oil. tested for boost leaks also and found none. anyone have any suggestions?

I've heard numerous reports in the past of oil contamination of the rubber spark plug boots causing ignition problems either directly or by hastening the deterioration of the boot itself allowing the spark to arc. Most of these issues were from Magnecores, but would assume NGKs woudl also be succeptable :dsm:

May seem like a dumb suggestion. But did you re-gap the spark plugs when you took them out?

i figured it out. my dsmlink reset so i was basically flooding the engine (850s, 255lph and 39psi on stock ecu settings) :thumb:
