Boost leak or something else?

So, I was driving to work yesterday doing about 85 and i was passing a car when i stepped on the gas to keep the rpm's up, my boost gauge showed vacuum of 30 psi ( the lowest it can read) and my car lost all power, the idle was terrible and it died while i was going down the hill. I was able to park it in a parking lot (having to drift to it) and opened the hood and white smoke was pouring out of the O2 sensor AREA; im not sure it was the o2 housing or anything but thats where it came from. I let it cool down for a half hour and tightened the jpipe connector which was the only thing i found to be loose. It seemed to work for the time being, but after i got home last night, the car smelled really weird. Almost the the oil that toy trains use kinda smell. What would that be?

I only have a mbc, maft blowthru setup, and stock bov, which is set to 14psi. What could all of this mean? White smoke from the turbo area, and weird smell form the right side of the engine bay? Couldn't really diagnose anything last night since it was dark. But, it was a distinct smell similar to a toy train oil only on the right side of the engine bay.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Not really sure what's going on. I would do a compression test though first.

I would check cam timing first. If you crank the engine over for a compression test you could damage your engine, if the timing is off. Then do the compression test, then a boost leak test. I would also check all of the fluids.

The car still runs normal, but the boost does fall off a little after a get on it. I think it has a blown head gasket. Would that make sense if the car loses oil, and also loses pressure. I forgot to mention that the car does have a cracked exhaust mani but i do have a new evo 3 manifold waiting to be put on along with new studs and bolts with gaskets. Would it be best to replace everything all in one shot, turbo (evo 3 16g turbo) mani, head gasket, and all other gaskets? I think that will solve most of my problem.

What do you guys think??

Thanks

I'd be easier since you could pull the head and replace the exhaust manifold with it off the car. I don't think you'd have to move the power steering pump either, which would save a little time. First though, I would make sure that it is blown before you go through all the work. Are oil and coolant mixing? I don't know about toy train oil, but does it smell somewhat sweet?

The toy trains I played with as a kid gave off the smell of ozone, which happens when there are frequent sparks.
How's you alternator? Can you check battery volts when the car is running? Is your power steering pump leaking onto the alternator? How's the PS fluid level? Maybe it's run dry and fried the PS pump? Is the O2 housing heat sheild loose and touching the alternator? I ask because that's where the power wires attach to the alt.

heres a quick idea... bypass the turbo and see what happens..to do this take your maf aand connect it directly to your throttle body and leave the other end unconnected, un hook the waastegate arm so the turbo dosn't kill its self tryin to make boost, and take it for a drive to see if it runs ok.
