I know I need a boost/vac guage as my first mod. I have been looking at the sponsers here and was wondering which I should pick. I have $100 for a guage and really dont want to spend more than that if I can get away with it. Thanks.

I picked up my VDO boost gauge from Summit for somewhere around $42.00 shipped. That'll leave you with some money left over for something else.

Any opinion on Auto Meter? Was thinking of the ATM-4803. Thanks!

Generally speaking :cue haters: any mechanical boost gauge is as good as the next. I have had VDO and Autometer, and both worked as they should.

I have Autometer, and the only problem I have is with the EGT gauges. They only go to 1600F and the probes are slow. But as for a boost gauge, go for it!! :thumb:

I love autometer but I bought a matrix off ebay and it works just fine. I will upgrade to a cf automete soon to match my cf a/f ratio gauge.

At our local shop they have a boost gauge(autometer) for $20.00. It says "nitrous pressure" on it(on the box, like a little sticker that they stuck on it") but the gauge says boost on it...and it only goes up to 30Psi...pretty sure that Nitrous pressure goes up a LOT more than that.

For a "first mod", a 100 gauge is a little excessive IMO. You could do two or three more basic/free mods by going with a cheaper gauge for the same 100 bucks, and upgrade to matching "bling" gauges down the road.

I am going to have to say Autometer allt he way. I have them in all of my cars and have only had one problem and Jegs took care of it in no time at all. My boost/vacuum gauge started to read 10inches at idle. I called Jegs they said send it back. I did and they sent me a whole new gauge in about a week. No questions asked.

For price/benefit ratio, autometer is the best. If you want the BEST Greddy or Defi are the way to go. I use Greddy P/H/W in my Stealth :thumb:
