It shouldn't run rich at all. The engine should be tuned to have a good a/f ratio regardless of the airflow.

If I turn my boost down from 31psi (2.4 or so bars) to 22psi would I have to retune anything or just run with the lower boost? (Mods in profile)

If you have to ask this question, you probably shouldn't be at 31psi in the first place.

How does less airflow not affect your A/f ratio? Seems counter intuitive. Im not trying to be a smart ass seriously wondering

The ECU monitors airflow, and injects the proper amount of fuel to maintain a desired AFR.

That is pretty much the whole point of an EFI system. :)

Like stated your ecu is tuned by airflow. Say you go 3/4 throttle and only build 22psi instead of 31, does it load up and run like shit? No. Because the ecu is tuned to compensate for all the ranges of airflow up to what it sees at 31psi.

I would look at adjusting/replacing the wastegate before adjusting boost, that will only cover up the sticking issue

I want to get an external wastegate o2 housing but im not sure how long that will be. Right now though the wastegate flapper gets stuck open when I launch it. If I do a second gear pull it starts to stick at about 29psi or 5000rpms and sticks open after I shift into 3rd. So I lose alot of boost in 3rd gear, Its like it doesn't want to build boost higher then about 10psi.

Internal 33 psi gated turbo? :barf:

Link logs 31psi and my greddy "BAR" boost gauge "brass T fitting, fitted to my frp" buries the needle past 2.0 bars

Either the waste gate or it just might be holding the pressure in the line so the waste gate holds open longer I've seen people put bleeders to let pressure out so out dont hold it open

You have BAR gauges too, I hate mine just not enough money to replace them haha story of my life!

If your Holset is DSM flanged then yes, it will bolt up. The benefit is better boost control than an internal gate.

Would I just have to weld the bep flapper closed to run this housing?

No, you would want to take the flapper off and maybe even port the wastegate channel. You would only weld (or block off) that flapper if you were running a wastegate off the manifold.

It is. Right now I have an internally gated Bep .55ar hotside.

No you would have ro remove the flapper to run the wastegate on the o2 housing. You would want to only weld it shut if your going to be putting the waste gate on the manifold.

Stock 7 bolt block running +30 psi. That's impressive.

Kind of sad though you dyno was only 333 hp.

We have stock 7 bolt blocks here on tuners with over 400, on a smaller turbo.

Yea i know. When the car was tuned the wastegate kept getting stuck open. So that took power away. The boost would hit about 28psi or so then drop to 20psi then slowly climb back up.
