O that video....that was a great one, if i was the owner of that car, i would have been severly pissed. They saw that misfire a few dyno pulls before, so why didnt they fix it before they pushed the motor even further??? O well, learn the hard way i guess, but i'd at least find a different shop, since the operator said his honda was "a real car" then admitted that a "F-body was a real car".....should have known better

Please everyone point at this guy and laugh :thumb:

I'm not really needing to defend myself because you obviously dont know to much about these cars and what that " stumble" also known as spark blow out is... let me tell you a little bit about that... While pushing COMPLETELY stock ignition to its limits you have to do some experimenting with the gapping of plugs... .16 was where we had to set the plugs... After gapping the plugs THAT tight.. we raised the Dwell on the car a little and it ran like a dream and fixed our spark blowout issue...

Telling me to find another shop??? your funny, I was 17 years old and I was my own shop with a buddy of mine , along with the help of a friend doing the squirt on my car it was my product along wtih the help of a couple good guys...

I'm not going to say the car was perfect because in no way was it... at the age of 17 and under my own money and my first race car I believe i did a good job

Yes, as a matter of fact i know quite a bit of these cars. I didn't mean to offend you, and im sorry that i stated it that way. I have built quite a few motors over the past, and no, they wern't just stock rebuilt ones, i have built 3 race engines, all SBC from a 327 vette motor up to a stroked 383 pushing 585 hp and 676 ft/lbs torque. I know about setting the gap when messing around with stock ignition systems, i had to do this before i upgraded to a MSD 6-AL setup on my Camaro. However, that car was not boosting 25+psi either.
I was very impressed with the numbers you got from that dyno. It just bothered me that you guys saw that misfire, and from my point of view while watching that pull, that they didn't do anything about it. Now that you told me that you did, well i guess that she blew up was from pushing it too far.
Again, i completly apologize for what was said above in my previous message. I never ment to offend you, i just saw the video from a different point of view than what was supposed to be viewed at. I'll admit, if you want to bash me, go ahead, i probally deserve it for what i said earlier.

This post was brought back from the dead.

Just to clear things up the "Driver" is not the owner of the car, he is a friend who at the time had a nice boosted eg.

Wade is funny as shit :)

GReat vid thanks for fixing the link squeek! Where was that? Was it the M&S covette guy's place after he bought EJ's? I've enver seen a dynojet in town in a building like that. Or is that something Parish came up with?

Nice, let me know when you go. If my second block is ready at that time i might go and see what mine will do at 30psi. I've only pushed the car that far on the old motor. You'll probably kill me on the dyno, but i'd like to see what kinda numbers my car puts out on something other than Murphy's Mustang Dyno. I hit 468 @ EJ's on my stock 7 bolt with a 1g head, so ii'm going to try and at least match that again.

I just got back from a small tuning session getting my car dialed in at 22 psi for the street. SO far on meth i'm holding 17* timing locked across the board and stuck at 22psi because my profec B won't go any frther. That is a tune for zero knock though. Previously I was at 20*/22psi and only seeing a couple of degrees get pulled, but I'm kinda jumping on the "how far can i go without knock" bandwagon just to see what kind of tune i can get. I have a Hallman MBC but i'm too lazy to put it on since i can't change boost from the cockpit afterwards. But who know's i'm starting to like the 22psi on the street already( i normally only run 18 on the street). Maybe i'll just lock in 25 with the MBC, throw in a larger meth nozzle and tune it. Then just leave it alone for a while (yea right..leave it alone HA) :p

I'm tuning with a Haltech E6k Stand alone. I got your number in my phone, if have lodge tonight, but i'll hit you up tomorrow if not sometime around 6 tonight

Nice car, I wish I had the resources and funds available for a build like that.

Can't wait to see how the built motor turns out :dsm:
