Very nice, I personally use the thread on flange from ATPturbo. I believe snap rings are the spawn of satan, but luckily the threaded flange has helped me out a ton of times as my BOV is mounted custom, down in the SMIC hole pointing out the front bumper. It would be a bi*** to remove it if I couldnt thread it off the pipe first.

interesting, ive seen bov's directly on the endtanks of fmics.

GstRacer are you venting it to the atmosphere? while still on the maf?

well i already have the hks bov from a previous car

yes i vent with the maf but my car has no problems doing this no staling no running rough nothing so i guess i lucked out one of few that the ecu compensated for the loss of air without stalling out

Or it could be that the HKS BOV doesn't leak nearly as much other BOVs during idle or vacuum.

Can you post a link to it? I don't see it on their site? All I see are weld on flanges for the HKS BOV. Thanks! :thumb:

a problem arose...

we installed the hks bov, with the authority flange, and the extreme psi recirc pipe, and a new uicp (forgot the company name, but its polished and goes all the way from the tb elbow to the smic). The hood wont close...

gona possibly see if i machine shop can cut down the flange some tomorow...

thats weird it must be your ic piping because mine fits fine

the ic pipe was pretty much what i was figuring is causing the problem. well see how it goes today after a trip to the machine shop.

Cheap fix....same method I used when I installed a Type R.
Cut the pipe on each side of where the BOV flange sits. Make sure to leave enough room on each...(I left about 4"). Then get two couplers and four T-bolt clamps. You can now rotate that section of the pipe and clear the hood no problem...I use this solution to also run no BOV at the track and replace that section with a straight pipe.
