well lets see i used to drive a 1990 plymouth laser 2.0 RST with 174XXX miles the car is bone stock and i got it bout 5 monthes ago i was working on replacing alot of things before i started modding it i replaced timing belt and all other belts new ign. coil and a new water pump 2 days ago and i went down today to pick up the car from a buddy of mine who did the water pump for me and when i got their i hopped in it and tryed to start it up and it turned over but didnt start and made a really funny sound and when i went to try to start it again it just clicked everytime so we yanked the timing cover off and the belt was really loose and then he tryed to turn the timing gears and they barley moved but more like rocked back and forth and after awhile he got it them to turn and then they would just get stuck we figured it was just a tensioner broke lose and was stuck inside gumming it up but the belt was under both tensioners and their was alot of oil underneth the car it had a small oil leak but i dont know if the engine is seized or not(because the gears wouldnt move at all) but then again i dont know much about dsms so i came looking on here for some answers and didnt find anything that could help me very much but
im going to expect the worse and say that the motor is seized but i was looking online for motors and i found a 1992 laser 2.0 NT auto with a bad tranny for 600$ and i was thinking about taking the tanny out of mine and converting the 92 laser to manual with a turbo.
would this be a good idea or should i just rebuild the engine?
