montreal,
hey guys im doing a block rebuild. the engine almost good to come out just need to find a place to rent the hoist or crane im just wondering ### else should i do on a low budget
my plan were new used 1g rod, 2g piston have the block honed if needed bored have the crank check and if needed turn and use over size bearing 2g manifold 16g turbo intercooler 255 fuel pump fuel pressure regulator boost gauge boost controller 2g elbow maybe hook up maf-t and have the bov set to atomspher thinking of having the balance shaft eliminatior but not so shure im just wanting to run under 400 horspwer but this is only a start to have my engine run better than stock how it use to be so this is probaly everything im gonna do any of u guy got better plan on cheap budget?

It's hard to understand what your saying. I'm not sure I completely get what your asking but here is my 2 cents. If your rebuilding the bottom end on a budget the 1g rod / 2g piston is a good build. The EVO pistons are another option also. I'd recommend the BSE with any rebuild. Also consider ARP main and head studs. Other then those things, it's just a standard build. You could consider porting the oil relief valve in the oil filter housing also if you deleting the balance shafts. If you search for rebuild threads you'll have most of your questions answered.

okay what a bse and apr stud you said main and head is the head to bolt the head to the engine and what the main stud for i thought there only one set to tighten the head and block together

Thanks snowborder714, to the OP, I was reffering to the studs that ARP makes that bolt the main bearing caps to the block (they hold the crank in place). The head studs are what secure the head to the block. The BSE kit is pretty straight forward. I ordered mine from Darren (FFWD Connection - Race Injuns That Will Freeze Your Brain) and it included everything needed.

ill try to post up some picture when im done i got the engine apart with the transmission still in the car i got everything off the block but now just waiting to bring it to the shop how much would boring and honing cost

If you're going with a 1g/2g combo you don't want to overbore since its a standard bore piston.just hone the block, and if you're on a tight budget machining can get expensive,(I'm going through it as we speek).so imo,if the motor was in good shape when pulled just check all surfaces of crank/rods/pistons/cylinder walls.if there are no big scratches or score marks I would just throw in new rings, new bearings for rod and crank, balance shaft eliminator, and its a wrap for the bottom end.that's just me though.
