Where is the best place to get a rebuilt short block??????

I have a 96 GSX turbo car that has a rod knock (at least thats what i think it is ) well i have been trying to find stock rebuilt short blocks but no one seems to sell them. I am not looking for something that makes huge horse or anything because this car is a daily driver (i.e bone stock). Who sells short blocks that are stock (maybe replaced faulty parts)

u can try looking into jasper they sell stock o.e. spec rebuilds and they warranty i thing 3years 36,000 thats is what we use at the shop and as far as i know that company is nation wide

anyone have results on the frankenstien shortblock? I know its just 1G rods w/ 2G pistons, but as far as rebuil quality for the price?

well my local machine shop would charge me 1250 to install everything like;

bearings
rods
pistons
polish and balance crank
deck the head and block
hone and bore the block
install timing components
and timing job

but the price was with my stuff

so i ended up doing whole work my self,except some machining requiring work and i ended up close to 1300 with eagle rods ,wiseco pistons,arp headstuds,new oil pump,and new timing components

Anyone know where else I can go? My goal, like most of us, is a daily driver w/ 300 - 350hp (for now...)

What are everyone's thoughts? I don't want to go over 2k on just the block. But if quality is going to cost that much...then hey, what can I say. I'll pay a few extra hundred for a job well done.

I have TWO stock 4G63 6 bolt turbo blocks with:

Stock rods
ARP rod bolts
ACL bearings
OEM pistons

$1,850.00 shipped... no core due.

If you are local, I can give you $300.00 back for you turbo core. We are a bit more expensive, but I have a lot of guys to pay - and they like getting paid - !!

Nick is a good kid - I have seen him wreck one to many times... it is the main reason the wife made me sell my bikes

Rigt now he is in Nursing school at IUP and only spends about 15-20 hours a week here at the shop on the dyno or building custom kits - we have more work then we can handle so right now is not a good time to take on a new R6 project... although we want to.... we just cannot right now... huge thank you for the offer though!
