block off oil cooler?

ok in regards to the oil filter housing, would it be insane to block off the coolant in and outs that supposedly cool the oil?

no pretty sure its not too insane cause the motor i bought came with cut oil cooler lines. So i tried to find plugs at a hardware and autoparts store but nobody could get them. So i just cut them down alittle more and welded them off. Works great! But dont get me wrong it is a better idea to have your oil cooled!

In my experience the words "block off" and "coolant" are usually not good together. IMO

im doing a motor swap and have the 90s air cooled oil system, ( does this really help lower oil temps or is it not really needed to run properly?) Because the oil cooler I have is all beat up looking, and im thinking yea id eventually upgrade to a better one.

Just take out the cooler if you don't think it's doing anything good.

You can get away with either plugging the lines, or looping them with hose, which ever you really want to do.

The cooler doubles as a heater, and a cooler.

How does it work as a heater?

he's referring to the 2g oil cooler that is run by the coolant, this helps to heat the oil when it's extremely cold
