block off EGR in NJ

I live in NJ. I just got my car inspected so i ripped out all of the emissions hoses, canister, blocked EGR, etc. The only reason I blocked the EGR is to get rid of the hoses, it really does nothing else of importance, although a lot of people will argue with that and I'm sure that is going to follow my post... So unless you are removing all of your emissions stuff, I wouldn't bother just blocking off the EGR.


Anyway, they won't check for it specifically, but it may or may not cause you to fail emissions.

No, I'm typing HUA again. You have one, but it's not ECU controlled like the ones out here are.

Still, it's not something you want to disable. There's no performance benefit, and slightly more engine stress:

I got a good look at the inside of my intake for the 1st time when I installed my fmic, it was not pretty. I'll be changing the TB shaft seal this week b/c I have leakes around the TB after the install so I was gonna remove the intake and flush all the shit out. I 've already rerouted the pvc and this is why I want to block off the EGR, to keep the intake clean. I thought if keeping you IC free of oil is so important, why not the intake? If people pay top dollars for extrude hone for better air flow, why wouldn't keeping your intake clean and smooth help performance?
