Hi

my struts for the trunk wont hold it open. if the stock struts where good, shouldnt they be able to hold a big spoiler aswell as the trunk open? anyone had experience with the struts not holding the trunk duo to a big spoiler? or is it just my struts that are bad?

Mine wouldn't even hold open with the stock little wing. Just replace them with better ones, or get a stick.

Get new OEM ones. That'll fix your problem.

Please use proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization when posting.

MR100467 - Left strut
MR100468 - Right strut

you'll have to correct my bad spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. (last word i dont even know)

english isn't my "main" language.. so please have me excused ;)

(im from Europe.. denmark to be exact)

If not, Firefox has a built-in spell checker that works just like Microsoft Word's (underlines misspelled words and if you right click on them, it'll give you suggestions on what it should be).

No offense to you personally, but we have plenty of people who are from other countries that have found ways to spell correctly, so this isn't out of your reach. The reason we ask this is to make it easier to read, as well as aid when people try and search for the answer.

Not necessarily. Trunk was designed with a specific mass, cg, strut lift force rating. The mass and CG have been changed with a big wing, thus the lift force requirement has been changed. A little calculation and testing could help you offset the extra weight by selecting a higher rated gas strut.

well didnt see it as a problem really. but got the spell checker for firefox now..

I haven't looked. I've had experience sourcing and working with gas strut vendors to modify the gas struts to suit my door designs. Try looking at the strut body and see who the manufacturer is and do some investigating.

i'll give my local mitsubishi shop a call tomorrow .. new OEM struts will probably hold it.
