I'm currently doing the '93 Big Brake upgrade to my '91 Talon TSI awd. I have all my parts, however the back of my hub isn't pressed on securely and it won't allow me to install the mounting bracket for the new caliper...any suggestions on how to press the hub back on without disassembling the entire assembly?

Why would it not be pressed in? Did you replace the remove the spindle at one point?

You can tighten down the lug nuts onto the studs and see if that closes the gap.

The back of the hub... Do you mean the back of the rotor? Where did you get the rotor from? When I did my big brake upgrade, the rotors I got had a lip on the backside of the rotor that kept it from sitting flat on the hub. I returned the rotors and got a new set, which did not have the lip present and was able to bolt everything on without a problem. This would be my guess...

Either your rotor isn't sitting right or some how your cv axle bolt has loosened up letting your hub slide down a bit on spindle...... compare the mounting area of your new rotors to your new. Not sure though how you can torque your cv axle botls though with no brake, rotors, or tires on.

just bought this one owner '91 Tsi, when I got all my parts in the replace the original brakes, the drivers side was not together. I've since checked and replaced the passenger side front, no problems there. Isn't that supposed to be one piece(welded)?

I got them from extreme PSI they're the DBA 4000 series. I know they fit because I got the other side together without any problems. i think it is the tone ring for the abs or wss that is not allowing me to install the mounting bracket for the caliper.

See attached pic for clearer idea of my dilemma:
