i somewhat agree with you... but you have to give artists like dream theater, pantera (first album with phil), tool, fates warning, etc credit for new ideas. let's not forget incredibly original artists like flaming lips, jacob fred jazz odyssey, tiki obmar, and other non-spotlight groups
