So i have a 95 talon tsi, mods in profile. Well let me begin by saying that my car ran fine till a few weeks ago. It seems when i go wot it starts to cut out and sputter. I have NO clue what could be wrong.
My dsmlink tells me my idc is around 78% and it doesnt knock at all. My egts (in the #1 runner) dont go above 1500 at wot. I dont have a cat so it creeps from 18 to about 23 in 3rd gear which wasnt a problem before, but like i said, now when i build boost it sputters and such.
I've tried adding fuel, taking out fuel, 0ing out the timing, changed the plugs, etc, and it doesnt seem to solve the problem, and im not getting any type of CEL.
Could someone point me in the right direction? What are the symptoms of a dying fuel pump or injector? Also, would a leaky head gasket cause this to happen? Im officially stumped

Little update. Just took my car for a ride and it ran fine until it warmed up. I just realized i dont have a coolant overflow and im beginning to think thats one of the reasons its running like poo. Apparently my coolant temp gets to 210-213 then the car just runs like crap. Also, when my temp starts to rise, my heater in my car doesnt circulate anything till i drive the car for like a half hour or so.

2ndly, i was wondering, on dsmlink, i have to add fuel instead of lean it out. If anyone else has a similar situation feel free to chime in :)

i think that i have the same situation...i thought i had a boost leak or somethin, but my car does the EXACT same thing yours does....drive for a while and my temp gauge shoots through the roof and my car can't even make boost...! I'll post on this later to see if that what it is and let you know...

Well thats the thing, my temp gauge on my dash doesnt go up any more than half way, ever. I just hope someone with knowledge about this situation can help a bit.

so i just bought some coolant and put it in...so now i can make boost but i'm not going anywhere when i hit full spool...weird:confused: but it doesnt buck as much as it did before

On the contrary *pardon me cause i just crushed a 5th of belvie* i added coolant to mine and it runs GREAT. I think that is the main problem to my bucking but im still kind of confused as to why i have to add fuel via dsmlink because every other fuel system i've used from afc to aem ems i've had to lean it out.
