Ok so i just bought my 95 GST a few weeks ago and to ran pretty well till now aside from a minor clutch bleed problem.
The other day i was driving along the highway cruzing at 70 and it was holding a constant speed but the boost kept riseing and falling causing some turbulance when i got off the highway and took a few turns the car was jerking all over the place while accelerating and when i put the clutch in while slowing down the car died/stalled, and the oil light and the engine light came on. I started it up again and kept going. Then on my way back home the car was jerking while accelerating again and on the highway it was doing the turbo thing again. when i got close to home off the highway the jerking got severly worse and i feel like i barley made it home. I checked the oil level and it looks good and idk if it is that or what but im scared to drive it again in fear that i will wreck somthing. Please help!!!!

first things first, do a boost leak test, and then get the code read at autozone or someplace where they do it for free. than report back and go from there. just my .02

ok ill see what i can do on the boost leak test, im no expert. do you think a leak would have that much effect on driving? and the engine light isnt on while i drive so if i got it read by autozone i dont think anything would show up would it?

You got a vacuum/boost leak no reason to check for a code if the cel isn't on because that's jot going to tell you anything if it is then check for a code. First place to check for is around the TB. They have a tendency to pop off but that really won't cause you any of your problems but its a good place to start, next I would go for the intercooler system that will cause your problems, if all is well there check around your intake system imake sure all your lines or block off caps are good a leak here will also cause your problems. I've battled with the if ic and intake leaks and I get the same problems when that happens

ok thanks! but what exactly am i looking for in terms of leaks? like hoses that have popped of? holes? and what is the easist way to test for leaks?

Your looking for hoses being popped off breaks in the lines the easiest way is doing a boost leak test you can do it yourself if you have a air compressor just look it up on you tube

alright, i havent gotten around to doing the boost test yet but i took it out for a spin today trying to see if i can figure out anymore information. it ran acutally quite well compared to the last time but still did a little sputtering but only when i was on the gas about 20% after that it was fine. also weird problem i didnt notice before is that when i put the clutch in all the way, wether rolling or stopped, the rpms get really low and it is bouncing off 0. and if i keep it that way long enough it dies. it does this worse when it is in gear with the clutch in than in neutral with the clutch in. I dont know if this is more conformation of a boost leak or a different problem, help please! thank you!

def a loose ic pipe. only reason it will do that is because one of your ic pipe is loose and you should be running really rich right now. do you have a wideband? check your wideband to see where it is sitting at. normal is 14.8. if you are in the low 11s or even flat 10 than its your ic pipe. if not check your maf sensor too. remove the filter and check the honey comb. i went thru what you did too and i found the problem myself after 2 shop charged me a grip to fix what wasn't the problem. it was my maf sensor missing the honey comb and i had the same issue as you did. when my ic pipe was unhooked i saw black smoke. alot of white smoke are usually coolant or blown turbo. hope this help

Start with the boost leak test first and the MAF sensor, they are the simplest diagnosis. As it was mentioned white smoke is coolant or turbo, pull the intake piping of the turbo and move the shaft around see if you have play in/out or up/down, also spin it and see how smoothly it moves. Any resistance or excessive play means your turbo is going and it's time to replace it

when you say the MAF was missing the honey comb, do u mean there was no honey comb? or was the sensor doing something else?
