ok heres my symptoms...
when i pull out of my driveway, almost 45 degree angle. back tires spinn (burnout) when i drive it feels like the clutch is slipping, sometimes it clunks, clucnks when i downshift, and put in gear and accel. sometimes. dont know whats wrong someone please help...
What i was thinking was a t case... it has never been done on the car...
oh and when its like the clutch is slipping i floor it and it just revs, doesnt go anywhere... the clutch is pretty new, its been broke in too. its an act 2600 should not be messed up. and ive done a couple hard launches with it. and the guy that had it before me i dont know how many he has done... i checked the axels too and they seem fine a little play in the back towo, in and out but nothing out of the ordinary...

It is a reasonably good assumption that if you rev and don't go anywhere it is the clutch.

I am kinda not understanding you tho. You say you can "burn" the back tires...what are the front doing?

If you xfer case has grenaded it is doubtfull that you will be able to "burn" the back tires.

If you have broken the center diff by launching the car too hard you can make it so the back doesn't drive any more....but the clutch will still feel ok.

we really need a better explanation...or I just don't understand what you are saying.

its kinda hard to explain, i wish you guys can be here to try it LOL, but it "feels" like the back are spinning but the front are still. and when i was at a light, i had it in neutral and i was letting the cltuch pedle out and the car started to vibrate like it was trying to catch or something so i put it back in then the clutch felt like it was slipping.... i hope this claers up a little bit.. :(

Does this happen when your turning or going straight.

If so, does it feel like the back tires are spinning as in they are just slipping causing the back end of your car to come around?

Have you had someone outside the car to watch the car as you do it?

Also have you had someone else inside the car to varify that the "clunking" is comming from the pass wheel?

I am not that experienced, but one possibily is that your differental could be going. But don't take just my word on it.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else at the moment :p

ill have someone come with me and check, its hard to tell me and my brother are both auto techs and i cant figure it out. mabye my brother can, hes a master tech. all i gotta say is fn DSM's...

ok guys i got some more symptoms now, i can leave it in gear w/o the clutch in idling... it makes like a grinding noise. no smell of clutch what so ever, and it feels fine sometimes. (the car) ost of the time is f'd up.

Blew the tranny most likely. If the input shaft is spinning and the output shaft isn't you are screwed....

It could be clutch related but you are gonna have to pull the tranny either way.

My guess is you killed the center diff/xfer case then drove it hard and messed up the front diff...or the other way around. But that is what it seems like to me.

Unless you broke atleast 2 drive shafts.

I just went through the exact same thing you are describing. When we dropped the tranny we found a shattered front dif. I didn't stop driving quick enough when my car started acting like yours and the pieces of the diferential grenaded the rest of my tranny. We actually found pieces lodged in the inside of the tranny case. Have fun, you need a new transmission.

well, i dunno if u saw this thread but i really need to know what your problem is..i pmed u as well, if u see this thread, lemme know asap.
thanks

i just developed the exact same problem.

i havent tried anything in a turn so i dont know if they spin. i just know it slips to take off then i got nuthin' over 2k rpm. like its still slipping in the pedal.

theres no way its my clutch just put that in in feb. looks like the LSD to the back wheels is leakin all its fluid, too.
