i have a 20g with a 16g compressor haul and it spools at around 3-3500 rpms it runs pretty quick.

I really enjoyed hearing what people had to say in this thread back in the day, and now I'm in the market to upgrade from my B16G... I'm hearing good stuff about the 50 trims and 20g's, but I'd like to hear if anyone has since changed their opinions or if there are different new opinions to bring to the table. Sorry if anyones mad about me bringing this thread back to life, but it had some really good info that I've been searching for and I'd like to see what else people have to say about it.

you can never go wrong with a good ole' Buschur 20g....gt35r is another good turbo to consider as well. I have a PTE 54trim, but have yet to see its full potential due to other problems, but they are cheaper and another option.

I run a tdo6h 20g and i absolutely love it. Remember though...those proven tens were run by two "big time" guys. Not everybody is gonna run out and bolt this turbo on and run tens. I hear a lot of good things about the gt35r and was/am considering it as my next turbo. Good luck with your choice !!

PTE SCM61 is pretty damn good, I dont think it laggs that much, of coarse you never drive slower then 60 it seems. But as for price diff (which there is a huge jump) the 50 trim is a better turbo for the money, rather have the 61 but its like 6 to 7 hundo more. I'm installing a 50 trim on my white car next week so i'll see how much a diff makes, though I have cams on the other eagle.

I had little aftermarket turbo drive time, but have owned 14b and e3b16g's and driveability didn't change from the 14 to the 16.

I love my 16G... its a great DD.

I find my self tuning for 15psi, leaving room to spare; +4 5 6 psi.

This thread was created when Bolt on housings, 50 trims & GT35R's weren't around , SBR was a bunch of nice people, 2g 16G kits cost over $200, and FP Greens and FP Reds ruled the land. :tease:

And not to mention, the op has long gotten rid of that car. I know because I personally finished stripping it and scrapped it almost a year ago. It actually became a donor car for the awd spyder conversion that me and some freinds did. He has since gone through a volvo, a 98 gsx, and is currently driving a BMW 330i.

The best streetable turbo? Small 16g!

36 lbs/min with 93 octane, ebay FMIC, and NO water/meth injection... zero knock. Spools at 2500rpms. Reachs 22 psi by 3200rpms! 600cfm compressor map!

Hey dsm-onster I have come to understand that you really dont like 20gs all that much. BTW what is the 17c.

I adore td06 20Gs. I think a td05h 20G is a waste considering one can get a faster spooling bolt-on for much cheaper and have the same flow, the evo3 16g. . . A td05h 20G with a clip isn't terrible. But a $90 clip is foolish when there's only a $100 difference between the two turbos.

SBR was a bunch of nice people

You mean they posted real numbers and not inflated ones back then? LOL

A 17c is kind of a rare turbo Mitsubishi put out. Years and year ago, you might have been able to find a DSM vendor who carried them (ExtremeMotorsports, maybe, or MachV?). Due to the ease of getting a 16g or 18g, or even a 20g, these odd turbos like the 17c and 19c didn't really get popular at all. Still.. if you have a really really good junkyard around you might get lucky.

Bringing the thread back from the dead. I would have to vote for the GT3076r in a T3 housing.
