i might be bias but i think the big16g is the best streetable turbo IMO , since i have this , i might be a little bias, and the fact that i havnt even drove with anything but a t25 and this... doesnt say much of my opinion :| my .02

cheap and sweet , budget racing as arnel says hahah

15psi at 4k is streetable to me.
streetability depends on what you can accept as a trade off for performance.

dirve a better turbo and you'll change your mind...

to answer another question, the 50 trim is VERY streetable, the best out there for streetability IMO if you go in straight lines..

to the person that asked there the 28 was, look in the slow car section....

the BR20g is also another GREAT street turbo, and if you must travel into the land of innefficiency known as hybrids, teh green is another great one.

I like the t-28 killer, so far has turned out to be a great street turbo @ 17psi.

*I was bored surfing the forums!

I don't understand no matter what anybody does in this forum its wrong anymore. Obviously he searched and found the topic he was going to post about and posted in here granted its an old thread but isnt that what is PREACHED, so he does what everyone preaches and he still gets shit for it WHY?

To keep on topic I agree with the 50 trim or 20g.

Yes, I brought a post back why? Just tryn to update info... I wish I could edit the post, I would add more turbo models to the poll list(can someone do this), I think the forum could be a little more knowledgeable? What do guys think? Com'on the list is a little old. There so many turbos out on the market, and I hate seeing threads on big 16 or 20g or t-28 or 14b, 50 trim, t40e, yadayadaya. I see at least the same topic post once a day.

All I want to see is a thread with peoples opinion (good/bad) on there turbo there using.
Maybe some pics. I hate seeing, "what turbo is this" questions too!

I don't think DSMeclipse4G63, meant anything about his marks about the thread coming back up on the forum radar.

I think I will just start a new thread on this, sometime...

If your looking to keep things on a low budget, a ported 14b would be one hell of a way to go especially if you drive a 2g. But if have some cash and are able to support a bigger turbo why not try any of the 16g's, 20g, fp green all of which you can have setup for an internal gate if you dont want to spend the money on a wastegate and other stuff.

Lag is overrated. I run a GT30 with a 65lb/min compressor(56 trim) on my daily driven street car (stock 110K 7 bolt) at 19 psi and I assure everyone it's very streetable. Full boost comes at 5000K. That sounds bad, but you'd have to drive it to understand. Shifting at 7500 keeps it in its powerband and also keeps a smile on your face. Anything less than a 60-1 is kinda girly in my book

My friends TD06 20G is much more streetable then my other friends PTE 50-Trim. The 20G has such a better mid range and still has great topend. The topend of the 50-Trim is greater but boost comes earlier and packs a better mid range when i test drove them :dsm:

DSMspyder99 sold me his AGP RS49 so I guess he's now a 20G man!!LOL. I am happy with low rmp response but need upper bost tuning. If I can't get it tuned i would say go with an EVO 16G.Mark

exactly I meant nothing buy it :) I actually posted here back in 2003, back when I wanted nothing but a 20g....well times have changed and now all I want is a t28 killer matched with awd. But again I didnt mean anything nasty with my post, just bored at work and posted :thumb:

Someone posted about the full Garret being better than the FP Green, and it came with a bunch of supporting stuff like the exhaust manifold and O2 housing.

First where can I find this Garret kit that would be the same as an FP Green?

Second what else do I need for bolt up? I don't mind buying an external, I was planning on getting a 40mm Tial.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You would need a new exhaust manfold. Buschur racing sells one for $475. for T3/T4's and $575. For T4's. I believe Precision Turbpo sells straight garretts. Forced Performance, Automotosports, DSMotorsports and Import Palace, all from tners own parts catalog listed at the top of the page! Mark

friend down the street has a holset hx-40 from a dodge cummins diesel and it has a top end like no tomorrow, although its a bit difficult to get spooling until you hit about 4k, but he drives it on the street all the time.

Bullseyepower sells that turbo as a bolt on for DSM's for around $1100. and claims it is good for 550HP or was it 650? Mark

I'm still waiting for someone to fess up about experimenting with a super ported T-25. :|

Best streetable. For the money its got to be the Evo3. No cutting shrouds, no bending lines - just tried and true MHI goodness engineered to be the best specifically for the 2.0L 4G63.

5,000,000RPM, eh? Yeah, that does sound bad.

Well it started building boost around 4,000 if I remember right, it just doesn't hit full boost until 5k. Even though the threshold rpm is high actual lag over that point is non existent and the lag between shifts was not bad at all. I wouldn't try to autoX it though ;)
