Best Speakers available

I had Kicker coaxials in the rear but they sucked pretty badly. They're now sitting in my garage along with a few other speakers I've used. I replaced them with Eclipse 3 ways and they kick ass. I recommend them. Just as with any speaker though, please power them correctly. Otherwise even the best speakers can sound like crap.

Unless you are independently wealthy I would forget all about boston, but it is worth the trip if you got the money. Me, myself, I went with an Alpine stereo because for the money it's the "best buy" for sound quality. If you wipe with 20's though, I would go with Alpine F1 status products. Literally, the best of the best hands down. For your 5 1/4 in the front, I went with Crossfire component speakers. As for the 6x9 in the back, I went for PPI (Percision Power) component speakers. Just so you know I never settle for anything but exactly what I want. Hope this info was helpful.

if you are looking to buy some good speakers, with a decent price and you are going to have a quality amp, JL audio 2 and 3 way components are the way to go.

Hifonics AS6.2C : http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2394.html
Great sound, bass is a little lacking on really low end, but they are great sounding and the bad really low bass isn't anything that isn't made up with a good sub.

JL Audio VR650CSi : http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1605.html
Great component set, bottom of the line JL audio, but they still rock, and are well balanced.

Audiobahn ABC6003N : http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5377.html
These sound wonderful, they are shallow mount and that's handy because it's a 6.5" and a 4" and a tweeter. they are very full sounding and respond well to anything. they sound almost as good as the next speaker, but if they are placed correctly in the vehicle and imaged right, i prefer these audiobahn's.

JL Audio XR653-CSi : http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2857.html
Wonderful, the best speaker combo that JL offers, excellent crossovers, and very easy to image. They sound very real, but are expensive...

Alpine F#1 Status SPX-Z15M, probably the cleanest, purest car audio speakers you will ever hear. and at approx $2500 PER DOOR, they are quite pricey.

for a good set though with a lot of midbass, check out Alpine's X-Series SPX-177R, 6.5" components. about $400/set. VERY clean with the highs, and very good midbass as well.

but no matter what speakers you get, make sure you mount them securely and use some sort of dynamat or sound deadener to get the most out of them.

I want the best speakers you can get for our car, shoudl i get mb quarts, infinitys, or what, and dont even anyone tell me sony or pioneer or someone lame like that. i Want both front and back replaced with top of the line. Thanks
Keep in mind that if you plan on using the stock location for the rear speakers that the mounting depth is unusually shallow unless modified.

The best is focal but they are over a grand for a pair. so then i would have to say infinity.

I'm pretty partial to the Polk Momo's. Can't remember the model number but they are nice speakers, had them in my truck and soon will have a set in the eagle.

i have the audiobahn acis63 3 way componet system, sound very good and pretty clear and they have a 320watt rms, besides that they are hella loud!

I replaced my rear speakers with two Memphis Audio 6x9's. Although I did have to do some custom fab. for them to fit, the sound is amazing. Very crisp and clear through the lower range.

Personally i love my infinity kappas, the perfects and the ones im using for my rears fit almost perfectly. i have kappa perfects in the front and for rears i am also running infinitys u can pick em up off of sounddomain which is a really good place to do research. from personal experience you cant go wrong with infinitys and by simply drilling new mounts into the rear bracket they fit perfectly in all housings.

The choice of the "best" speaker is very individual. By that, I mean that what sounds good to you may not sound good to someone else. Price is not indicitave of performance. I'd advise listening to the speakers yourself and making the decision. Have a CD of music you "know what it's supposed to sound like." Don't listen to too many sets in a given sitting. Your ear (and brain) will become fatigued and you won't be able to differentiate between speakers as well.

For regular speakers (not subs) My vote goes for Infinity or Eclipse. I have not been disappointed by either. I went into a sound room at Custom Sounds, (one of the managers is in the local DSM club, so he knows his stuff) and had him compare the Infinities and Eclipses to almost every other common brand (alpine, pioneer, kenwood, etc.....) and it wasn't even close. I have Eclipses in my car, and Infinities in my Mom's Chrysler LHS (that car is a ghetto cruiser if I've ever seen one........) The sound quality on both is excellent. If you want to spend an obscene amount of money, I will agree that a set of Boston components would be a damn good investment (all the ones I have seen have been really expensive.)

Ironically, I have both infinity and eclipse in my car, and love them! Infinity has almost no competition when it comes to excellect sound reproduction in the high end. The Eclipse sub's I have have given me great service and excellent sound for quite awhile now. Neither one you would be disappointed with...:thumb:

I had some pre-Rockford MB Quart 6x9s in my 97 RS a few years ago, I was hearing things in the songs that I had never heard before. They were definately super high quality speakers. I know they are probably not the very very best in the world, as there is always someone better, but I'll be damned if I've ever heard anything that sounded better. Do you want quality, or quantity? Sure you might be able to pound tons of wattage into a Rockford speaker and get a trillion decibals out, but it's not going to sound good. However, good luck finding MB Quart speakers today that are pre-Rockford.
