hey anybody know where the best place to run my power wire for my amp would be? any ideas on where to go through the fire wall, i got a 97 Eclipse Sypder GST and was just trying to make this easy, but nothing ever is!Thanks

I ran my 2 gauge wire through the passenger side firewall. I have a 97 GSX, so i am not sure if all of the engine wirine, etc is the same. However, I doung a rubber 'boot' sort of seal, on the firewall, which is where a bunch or wires were entring the firewall. I cut a small slit in the boot and pushed the tip og the wire through.

Then, I took out my passenger seat and all of the outer carpet molding (the plastic pieces and co around the bottom of the door frame, etc. Then you can lift up the carpet. Pull the wire through the firewall from inside the car. You are gonna have to get down under the dash to get a good view of it. After you pull it through, just run the wire UNDER THE CARPET to where ever the amp is. (i.e. under the seat, in the trunk, whatever). It's all about going through an existing boot / opening. :thumb:

Here is a pic from under the hood, near the battery, where I entered the 'boot' in the firewall. The second pic is from under the dash of the passenger side, The clear wire is my amp cable, the red wire is my fuel pump re-wire. The pic from under the hood is kinda dark, so I used the light blue paint line(not the actual blue wire) to show the path of my amp wire. (disregard the big blue wire in the first pic - that's just part of my homemade 'custom ground kit' - not related directly to the amp)

On my 95 420a, I had that same little rubber boot unused and thats were I ran my power wire too.
I remember actually drilling a hole through the fire wall on my second eclipse, because I was young and retarded and didn't really take the time to look!! You live you learn, LOL I can't believe that I did that !!!!!

you can go through the passenger side of the firewall right down by your feet there is a big thick wire loom that runs through there and the battery sits on the passenger side so you wont have to run the amp wires across you engine bay or anything.

thanks sthis make life a hell of a lot easier! i will have it hook later this after noon. Thanks again
