in my trunk i cut off the light bulb that lights up when the trunk opens so i could hook up a neon light. well, it didnt work and ever since then my deck stopped working and the lightbulb that lights up by the pedals when you open the door stopped working. i took out my deck and tested the wiring with my test light. the ignition wire gets power when the key is in, but the all time power wire never has any power anymore... i noticed that the all time power wire is the same wire that i cut back in the trunk.... uhhh what a headache. they are both the red wire with the black line running through it. i took some pictures to show what im talking about. i tried wiring the 2 wires in the trunk from the lightbulb back together and back to the harness and i tried grounding just the black one and leaving the red one hanging and nothing worked..... is there a fuse or anything for this wire or maybe if i reset the battery something would happen? im really getting frustrated and dont know what to do anymore. any help would be appreciated.

It could just be me, but I had a hard time reading that...Anyways...It sounds like you messed up an electrical circuit, and/or blew a fuse. Since I dont know the fuse's off the top of my head, whip out your owners manual and take a look. Check both fuse boxes, and your relays. The lightbulb was making a circuit, and when you cut it up, that intereferd with it. You can either solder the wires back together, or solder the lightbulb wires and bulb back up. Then check your fuses, and report back

The light bulb does technically complete a circuit (that's how it works), but not in the sense that you're alluding to. If it did, if/when the bulb blew, it would kill everything else in the circuit (series circuit). It doesn't, it runs in parallel with the rest of the stuff on said circuit.
My guess is you bridged it while playing around back there and blew a fuse. Check 'em all.

Yeah, I'd agree w/ the above diagnosis, and if I recall correctly, the interior lights are controlled by the same fuse as the trunk lights, it's a little red 10amp on the lower left corner of the box.
