Ok so this internal wastegate on my MHI EVO III Big 16g is shyt. Really i cant even step on it when im driving. The only way i can build up boost is if i give hit the gas about 30%. Anything more after that my boost gauge will read up to 2.0 bar which scares the shyt out of me. So spring break has started for me and its time to work on my car. i was going to go with an external wastegate off the o2 housing from Punishment Racing but my radiator blew so have to buy a aluminum one. I know that the best way to get rid of boost creep is with an external but no money right now. I will be getting one in summer when i switch to FP RED. But in the mean time i wana be able to build some boost. So my question will be whats the best internal wasegate out there? that will let me run any where from 10-17 psi with no problem.
i am porting mt turbo as well with a MBC i bought.

Ok your post really makes no sense.. Your saying your wastegate on your 16g is junk, but how do you know it is? Have you taken it off and tested it? What symptoms are you have to make you think this? Forge makes a nice wastegate, but not really necessary.. More info would be nice.

well ok yes i have tested it with an air compressor and it holds about 10 psi according to my gauge. But when it on the car its totally a whole other story. it holds boost as long as i feather the throttle only like 30% but as its reaches high RPMS and more throttle the boost starts creeping like hell. Its really starting to bug the hell out of me. and its FP 16g with the 38mm flapper.

So it's not the wastegate "sucking", it's the turbo overrunning the abilites of it, and creeping. Has the hotside been ported and the wastegate hole enlarged to help with the creep.

It's a fact of life, basically all evo3 16g's creep, especially with a larger exhaust. How much porting you do to try and eliminate it is up to you.

well yeah i think its dumb the MHI puts wastegates that cant hold the power being put out by the 16g. I have not done any porting out yet probably why its creeping. But took it off today and gona port tomorrow. i plan on porting hot side and wastegate flapper whole. But really looking for a better Internal Wastegate before i go external. I think ima go with a Forge
