I am just curious on what would be the best bet for my FMIC? I want a high end product but don't need overkill for the basic mods I will have. Exhaust, Intake, BOV, some basic things. I just want to end things but not the most expensive in the world, pretty much looking for a nice happy middle road FMIC that is real nice for the price and how much that will cost. Is it expensive to have an fmic installed? and can they do it with the stock front bumper on there without having it fit improperly?

We need to know your goals and what mods you are going to use to get those goals. There are so mant FMIC kits becasue there are so many different combos. If you are going to use a smaller turbo I would go with a smaller "street core" size fmic. If you are going 20G or bigger and plan on running it hard then a "racecore" size would work. Check this out and see what fits in you budget and will accomplish your goal.

From there I would find the top three of your choice and do a search on that and see what people say about it or PM a member that has one and get there opinion.

I know that wasnt much help, but you asked a very broad question so you are getting a very broad answer.

The AGP kit looks really attractive and at a reasonable price (for what you get). T-Bolt clamps, silicone couplers and a replacement overflow bottle included. Haven't seen one in person yet but have heard lots of good things about it. It's certainly worth taking into consideration in addition to the above.

IMO the greddy 24' looks nice and the install is pretty easy but time consuming. High quality sh*# homie. Round $800

This is one of the worst designed FMIC I have ever seen. The pipping is amazingly long and it runs in front of the core. A good short route pipping kit would easily cut 3 feet or more from the Greddy kit.

If you realy don't want overkill look into spearco cores. Check out the site. Match your flow rates, horsepower goals, and sizes. I think if your looking to have it installed expect to pay through the nose and there will be cutting involved.

It does its job fine. I get pretty good response with my 20G/GReddy 24R FMIC. Keeps me going.

The pipe running infront of the core is irrellivant if you are keeping your front bumper brace for inspection purposes or if you are doing like the poster of this thread said (I want a high end product but don't need overkill for the basic mods I will have.) . Most people aren't into cutting the front bumper to remove the 1.25 inches of plastic infront of the core. The piping sits behind it.

The cooling problem that has been said in the past is another thing that makes potential buyers worried. As for personal experience, I have had NO problem with my setup at all. Most of the time the colling problem is more of a thermostat/coolant level problem.

Again, I have had NO problems with this product and recommend it to most everyone that is looking for a nice quality FMIC at a decent price.

Also, the greddy large front mount enables you to keep your core support, which is important when it comes to handeling. Many other large fmic requires you to remove the core support such as the spearco.

Im glad they work for you, that is fine and dandy, but it is still a bad design. He could get a street core and not to remove as much of the bumper support and still have shourte route pipping. With almost any FMIC you will have to trim a few parts that the way things go. Trimming the bumper support and the core support are two dofferent things. With shourt route pipping you are only make existing holes bigger so it will ot affect handiling. I dont hate Greddy I have there BC and TT, I just think they could have done a better job of designing the FMIC.

I agree with you on that. I just didn't want him to think it was not an option for what he described in his post.
