?
thanks.

im looking for the best bag for buck. ive heard from a local shop that the turbo xs Dtec feul/boost controller is the $hit. what do you guys think?

I know the Turbo XS system is pretty kick ass for subi guys. To me though, the program is just like dsmlink with maybe a bit more will less user friendly controls. It does cost a pretty penny though. For the Subaru platforms, it's like an EMS without the need for all the extra hardware. We have an ever cheaper tunning device and that's dsmlink.

Since you have a 95 turbo, go ahead and do a search on how to check to see if you have a Eprom ECU. If you do then dsmlink would be something to seriously think about. Either that or you can chip it for your current setup and then fine tune with an AFC.

Out of what you listed your best bet is emanage blue. Very cheap and works awesome. My brother is running a 16g at 28psi on e85 with 1000c injectors and it works like a champ. The fuel and timing adjustments are more like a full engine management system unlike dsmlinks easy fuel slider setup. Anyways emanage can be found for about the price of an safc if you look in the right places.

My buddy has the turbo xs kit on his wrx and its great but Ive never heard of it working on a dsm. Dsmlink would be the best bet if your spending that type of money.

I vote for DSMLink, which I have and I think it is the best engine/fuel mgmt program. It is excellent and allows for extreme control over the ECU for $550. I am sure that Emanage and others have their place, but this system is the best for most dsmers. Sh_t, most of us save up in hopes that we can buy it one day...thats my input anyway.

well, dsmlink is alot more expensive than emanage. i found emanage all over ebay for under $300. i didnt find dsmlink for less than 400. yes i have an aprom ecu, i checked. verifye for me. im prettypositive it is. i took this pic about 20 min ago

That won't affect your ability to run DSMlink. How it works is they replace the chip in the lower right hand corner of the circuit board (it says EB23E on it) with a socket. Then you are able to install another chip into the socket with specific setting that you'd like (for example, it can be programmed to run 1150cc injectors without changing any settings). And if you need a different chip (you upgraded injectors and don't want to have to change the settings every time you disconnect the battery), you just pop it out and either get it reprogrammed or put a new one in.

i noticed the sitckers...one says done in 1995 the other in 2000. my ecu doesnt have a socket on the eprom either its soldered to the board. i went to dsmlin.com all i can say is... thats perfect. but i can afford to spend $600 on anything but my rent. can emanage do timming adjustments like dsmlink?

The "Ignition Adjustment Map" can accurately advance ignition timing by controlling the crank angle / cam angle signal.

This is from the E-manage Ultimate's features website:
Greddy E-manage Ultimate New Features Spec 15500501

Edit: It also looks like you might have to buy an additional harness for the Ultimate as well.

If you went with the E-manage Blue, you'd have to buy an optional ignition harness which would then allow you alter the ignition timing. According to the FAQ, it's an additional $41.80.

One thing I would like to point out is that even though DSMlink is more, there are the godly DSMlink forums. There are a lot of users willing to help people out when they need it. Even the owners of ECM Tuning (the makers of DSMlink) are on the forums constantly helping and troubleshooting. I've talked with them on a few occasions and they are extremely nice and very informative. Will you get the same user support, tech support, and help with the E-manage?

i HAVE unfortunatly had to call greddy.LOL. i graduated from UTI sacramento last nov. i took hotrod U, superstreet, power&performance 1a,1b,2,and nissan/infinity advanced technician training(natt) while i was there i installed a greddy profec e-o1 on an audi TT,...do i really need to say that was a total bit(h. and half the grddy instructions were in some other language (not english) and when i got on the phone with them they made me go through a bunch of bull to determin the remote we had was crapp. so i am deffinatly a person who will pay a litle more for better customer service and support.
i had another question, with the dsmlink. when your batt is disconnected, does it reset to facotry? can u save tune settings on the laptop? and why the he!! was my ecu reprogramed twice?

Yes and yes. It will reset to the settings you specify when you order DSMlink (injector size, rev limit, etc) so you can start your car and drive it.

You might want to call up your local Mitsubishi dealership and see if they can pull up any record on your VIN. Maybe they have some notes stored or something.

And the other language was probably Japanese. I noticed a lot of their instructions were in Japanese when I was browsing their site.

You can change the settings later. Just what they put in will be the default settings in case the ecu gets reset and loses the tune. You could of course just load your tune back in the chip if you saved it on your laptop.

They burn the chip with default settings so you can still run in case your ECU loses power and wipes the programmed values.

The EPROM system works similar to RAM does on a "normal" computer--lose power and all the stored values are wiped.

The ecu will reset on a 2g when the battery loses power or is disconnected but not on a 1g. Yes you can save it to your laptop and just load the tune back in if that happens.

I had mentioned that because I ordered DSMlink and had it programmed for 1150cc injectors. I didn't have them at that time though. I was still running on the stock 450's. So every time my battery was disconnected, I had to reprogram the ECU and tell it I was running 450's, not 1150's like it was programmed for. This was just a small pain since I had to have the laptop every time this happened.
