Hey all I have been having a wierd sound coming from the rear of my car on the right side. The sound comes and goes and I can feel a vibration in my gas and brake pedal when it makes the noise. I think it could be my feul pump ( walbro 255) I know it isn't my wheel bearing or anything like that because I had that checked out and all my suspension parts look good. The sound happens mainly at the start of accelerating. The sound also pokes it's ugly head up when I am in park I can get it to make the sound in park when I press on the brake pedal. Anyone have any suggestions or had a similar problem? I never had a feul pump go out on me before so I don't know the signs. The car seems to drive fine I just get that hideous noise and a vibration in my pedals.

What does the noise sound like? Is it a humming/ whining sound?

I don't see how it could be related to the brake pedal if it is the fuel pump....But it could be.

I have a 190 in my car and its loud all the time, and when i have my turn signal on, it hums in sync with the signal LOL.

Can you compare the sound/feel to the sound/feel of an ABS system?

I really dont understand how you can feel a fuel pump all the way through the gas/brake pedal.

Abs pump is in the front left of the car, behind the headlight. It could cause a pulsing in the brake pedal assembly. When they are trying to keep the wheels from locking up during a skid they pulse and can be heard and felt in the pedal. If you think it could be your fuel pump, try checking the voltage on the fuel pump feed wire back by the tank. Low voltage makes the pump wine

He has a 255 pump so im sure his will whine no matter what. I have a 190 and mine whines, altho its not rewired.

I had a noise like that. When I put the car in park or reverse and hit the break it showed up. Found it was the heat shield for the muffler vibrating against the muffler. I just wacked it a few time with my hand and noise went away.
