im looking for the best bag for buck. ive heard from a local shop that the turbo xs Dtec feul/boost controller is the $hit. what do you guys think?

The DSMLink creators will want to know what injectors to do the initial chip settings for. These settings are what the ECU will revert back to if the battery is ever disconnected. In other words, if you have 450 cc injectors NOW, and have the Link chip burned for 450's, then later you upgrade to 1600's and change your settings, if your battery ever dies or is disconnected, the ECU will go back to 450cc settings.

DSMLink is not just a CD and a cable; it's the CHIP that they burn for you and install in the ECU itself (if you choose not to socket and install yourself).

Go to the DSMLink website, download the software and the ower's manual. Read them and play with the software (use the sample logs) before you make a decision. The program itself is stupid-easy to learn and is good enough for 95% of DSM'ers out there.

That would be the best option (unless you are knowledgeable and skilled with circuit board soldering and desoldering.) They do a very good job to get the job done fast as they know people don't like down time. The only reason to send it to them is to get the old EPROM removed and have a socket put in. This service only costs about $30.

If you don't want to send it all the way across the US, you can send it to steve (View Profile: steve - DSMtuners.com) who is in Illinois. He does a lot of work with ECU's and even some of ECM Tuning's work. Very skilled and has a very good reputation.

do u use it? who all has used it that is following? i geuss im gonna have to try to stach some cash from the old lady for a couple of months. she hatse me spending over 200-300 on my car in a month. what she dont know wont hur her. LOL:shhh:

I do use it. It has been very easy to learn so far. There are also a lot of good sites out there to help you get started. Before I got it, I downloaded the software and the users manual, which I read about 4 or 5 times. I then scanned through the Log File Advice section on here and found a bunch of .dat files (which is a DSMlink file). I opened them and just looked though them and the software to get a feel of it.

I just started tuning about a month ago. I have just messed with the airflow sliders to calibrate my MAF-T. Once I get my wideband back up and running (which hopefully the 3rd time's a charm), I'll be ready to start diving deeper.

ok, you guys have made up my mind. im buying dsmlink. thanks alot. i still have a couple of things to get fist: 1- intercooler piping, 2- 16g turbine housing, 3- 550-600cc injectors......then dsmlink. done deal.

Yes. Wiring a wideband output into the ECU for DSMLink to read is very easy.

I use it as well, as do many people.

I also have Dsmlink. I would recommend getting at least 1000cc injectors since Dsmlink can control them without a problem.
