So this question has been stuck in my mind for quiet some time now and I figure I would ask people that know what their doing already. So my question is, What would be the best engine to swap into a 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage? I just want to know if it's possible or not and would it be hard work if so. If not would it be a good idea to just turn it from an Automatic to Manual and just rebuild the engine?

So what options are you looking at? Because anything is possible with enough time and money, you could have two LS1's in there.

I mean if you want answers, then make logical statements, like "I was thinking about swapping a 4G63 in my mirage and making it awd."

Sell your mirage and get the platform you want.

With the money to swap in a 4g63 and do a full conversion from auto to manual, you might as well just get the car you want with the drivetrain you want. ^^just as rock1t said

If you do a search there is an article on here about someone converting a mirage to an evo including a rh drive conversion. So with enough money anything is possible.

Thank you everyone for your input, the reason why I want to work on this car is because I just want to have something different I guess. I'm still not 100% sure on what I'll end up doing but hopefully I'll decide soon.

First dont get mad, a car is a money pit if your going to convert your mirage into an evo 3-7 you might just want to get an evo 8.. i've just seen way to many ppl start these projects, an the end result is nice but not what it was worth. but what do i know installing two ls6 in your car would make me blush go for it LOL
