best DSM shocks....period

The GR-2 are exactly what come on the car from the factorys, hence the KYB stamped into the body of the shock. If you arent going to competitvely race the car, just get some KYBs, you wont "NEED" anything more expensive than that.

Who really "needs" anything more than stock? Who "needs" an 11-second car? Who "needs" coilovers? It's not about necessity. It's about how you plan to drive the car and what you want the car to do. GR2's are not performance shocks. They're little more than stock replacements. If you don't plan to do much performance driving, or don't think you'll notice the difference between a good shock and a stock shock, then get the GR2 and save yourself some money. If you want to do any serious driving and can tell the difference, skip the GR2 and AGX step and just buy Konis. Chances are, you'll end up going that route at some point anyway. Konis are the best non-full coilover shock out there for these cars, period, especially if the car is lowered.

If you do some research you'll notice people say that AGX's "will do", but they're not ideal. If your car is lowered an inch and half or more you'll want the Konis. I've had AGX's and they were shot after a year with my car lowered. I put a set of GR2s on to replace them because I had little money at the time. I'm putting Konis on now. If I had just spent the extra cash on the Konis in the first place I'd have saved myself a bit of cash in the long run. If you don't have the money to buy the right part now, wait until you do. You'll just waste more money in the long run by buying the wrong part to save money in the short term.

You took my post way to literally. Of course no body needs anything more than stock, but you certainly do if you want to upgrade the car, which is why pretty much everybody is on dsmTUNERS. He wants to spend under 400 dollars, so Konis should be out of the question.
He is buying sportlines, so its obvious he wants a lowered car and isnt building the suspension for all out performance. Hell why cheap out on Konis when you can get a full Penske setup custom made  This is about bang for the buck here. However the name of the thread would suggest otherwise
