hope this is the right forum to post this too im looking for advice on my next clutch option im a 3000rpm smooth launcher but im looking for the best clutch that will hold up to that beating i had a spec stage 3 6 puck and it slipped and eventually blew in a few months and went 750 miles on breakin then my buddys went through trans so i do alot of street racing and im looking for best clutch for alot of launching ????? i appreciate any advice and if spec is good and i just had a fluke like to know too

ACT's got some pretty nice clutches. I would say get prepared to spend some money on a decent clutch, and probably save for another if you plan to keep launching all the time.

You like to race and launch like an F18 off an aircraft carrier, then be prepaired for your clutch to take the brunt of your assault. Doesnt matter what brand (unless its multiplate) it's not going to last. I have a lot of experience with SPEC and I suspect the reason it slipped was because of an improperly machined flywheel (if it was even machined). SPEC requires the flywheel to have a specific step pattern machined for their clutches so make sure you have your installer set it up properly. ACT is proven though if you want to try another brand, you wont be disappointed.

try to use punctuation, reading stuff like that is annoying.

anyways, i have a spec clutch on my car for 2 1/2 years and i launched my car a lot and it still holds and grabs perfect. AWD cars burn clutches like 2WD cars burn tires. if youre not going over lets say 300whp, something like an ACT2100 would be fine. anything over that, and i would recommend an 2600.

also, why do you launch so low? 3000 is very low. i launch my car at 4500-5500 pending on how hot the clutch is and how much boost im running.

I've been using the Fidanza 4.3 6-puck ceramic without problems. Also, refrain from throwing the words "street racing" around :nono:.

LOL hes paul walker, quit hating, he'll roll you up and take your pink slip.

how stiff is the 6 puck? my spec was stiff as hell at first when i first got the car but now it feels normal.

My clutch feels pretty normal. It's not loose but has enough pressure for you to know it's there. I think it was a little less than the ACT 2600.
