Ok when I bought my car the BCS was removed already. I was looking at my motor bay and noticed a little nipple that comes right off the back of the air can where the maf is. Looking at this link http://members.shaw.ca/dsm.1000q/Engineprimer/1G/Q3.htm, it shows one vacuum line going from the BCS to this nipple. Mine has nothing hooked to it. So I decided to plug it up with a screw so the car doesnt pull in unmetered air. Now with it pluged the car seems real hard to start when cold and last night I decided to gun it through 4th and hit about 115, as soon as I stopped boosting the engine light came on. I guess the question is what do I do with this nipple if the BCS is removed. It ran way better with it unpluged.

that might work but a vuccumn plug would work a lot better if it needs to be plugged...i dont think it would affect anything too bad if it wasn't though

Yea im starting to think its all a coincedence that this happened when I pluged this nipple. I took it off on the ride home from work and no change. When I get ahold of my brother and steal back my logger I can find out what is wrong. Thanks for the reply. Anyone else know what I do with the nipple, do I plug it up or route a vacuum line to something from it.

honestly I wish i knew also because mines doesnt have anything there either, I dont know if it effects performance or anything, does your turbo creep or anything? I was once thinking it was something for the wastegate but never paid it any attention as for the car ran fine???

No creep at all, but i have a ported and polished 16g, majorly ported evo o2 and a fully ported SBR mani. When I did my 4th gear pull last night it felt a little better with it plugged. Wonder if the A/F is messed up because of the unmetered air?

Also someone told me I need the BCS if I dont have a MBC. I have the vacuum line going from the jpipe to actuator and using that to control boost. This is ok right?

Ya you should run stock boost then...you dont need the bcs but like i said leave it plugged in and tuck it away...but you really need a MBC. About $20 shipped for a voodoo III on ebay. Works great.

The 1g doesnt have a problem with it unplugged. Ive never had it in the car. This was a junk yard car pretty much complety built by me. Yes yes I do know I need a boost contoller but ive tryed to turn up the boost with a homemade one and had knock at about 13psi so I dont need it untill I get DSMLINK(cant wait).

Ok now when it was plugged everytime I started the car cold it would take about 3 tries. Now I unplugged it yesterday and it started fine but the engine light came on still. This morning with it still unplugged she started like a champ and the engine light did not come on. Someone has to know what to do with this vacuum port coming from the intake to BCS. Someone help please!!!!

Hey steve do you think since I was running the car with it unplugged for ever, that the computer learned to run like that. Because as soon as I plug it, its real hard to start and a check engine light came on. Took it off and starts fine and dont seem to have a CEL anymore. Wierd???

LOL, I was starting to think it was a coincedence but it went away this morning. Usually I hit some boost but this morning I didnt because I had no gas. Maybe thats why the CEL did not come on because it seemed to come on when I was boosting hard. Thanks I will just plug it up.
