I installed a mbc about a year ago and when I did I removed the bcs from the car. Previous to that I had a knock led which obviously stopped working whe I removed the bcs. Today I guess I missed that annoying led so I plugged my bcs back onto the harness without the vacuum hoses and the led is working again. My question, is it ok to leave it on and is the led still gonna serve a purpose?

Yes the LED knock/BCS mod will still work without any vacuum lines hooked up to the BCS. There's been a lot of discussion however over whether or not the BCS LED mod is actually useful. If I were you I would ditch the LED mod and get a datalogger. You can find a cable for $30 and a used PDA for $40 on ebay. Then just load on the free logging software and you're set. That'll let you know when you're getting knock better than an LED would. Plus you'll find out even more information about what each sensor in your car is reading.

far as i no the LED will NOT work w/o the BCS installed. i think the vfaq even states this. or at least not work right

Last night I drove the car and the led lights when you start the car and shut it off like it should, but it didnt flicker at all during hard accelaration. Oh well, guess I will work on getting a logger.
