Resolved Battery Relocation NHRA Qustion

Hey guys, I've seen plenty of write ups on battery relocation but looking at the rules it seems the box has to be vented to the outside. I haven't seen this in the write ups I've looked at. Here is the link to the 2016 rule book. Batteries are section 8:1 starting on page 34.
I guess my question is how are you guys that are following the rules doing this? Are you venting the box straight down through the floor?

I put a hole in the trunk floor and ran the provided vent tube down. I use the summit racing battery relocation kit.

Yes run a venting tube through the trunk to the outside. I dont even think i had to drill a hole for mine, i just utilized an empty hole. But then again i also removed the washer fluid reservoir and spare tire support so you probably will have to drill a hole.

If your not getting a kit to do this make sure you measure twice and cut a little longer then you think on the wire. There are a couple plugs that you can take out to run a hose down and i believe there is a drain for the hatch that you can probably go through.

if i remember my rules right you also need an outside battery kill switch for NHRA when you put bayyery in the trunk.

Oh yes, thanks for pointing that out. It's section 8:4 and must be done if the battery is relocated.

Yep, battery disconnect that kills battery and alternator charge current (when activated, shuts off running engine). I thought that if you had a sealed battery, you don't need outside vent?? On/off also has to be clearly labeled and accessible from the back of the car.
