2G Ball joints

Ok, so I ordered and just got my ball joints in. I ordered a left and right and they are different part numbers but what's the difference? There identical.

I'm gonna take a ride to the local parts store to see if they have them in stock so I can take a look at another set.

Not what I suggested, but much better.

Look at how the neck to the ball-joint connects to the lower shock mount. It seems to be off to one side a little bit, which is what I (vaguely) remembered. Are they both offset in the same direction or is one offset to the opposite side?

edit: just saw the second picture. Sure looks to me like they are both offset to the same side, which implies to me that they are both for the same side of the car. Bummer.

Part store didn't have any, nor did they have a decent pic. Sorry for all the questions, i've delt with many ball joints but never one with an arm attached to it.

Yeah, so I guess i'm gonna jack up the car and see which one I can change. Fingers crossed for driver side.

Ok, at least I got the driver side changed. What a pain in the ass, I think it was the original ball joint. pickle fork and a five pound sledge to get it to separate
